Hobbies: Racing, Scuba Diving, Skiing Gustavo Vildosola JR. (Tavo) grew up in the Mexicali Valley of Baja, CA. Before he could see over a dashboard he was strapped in the seat of his father's prerunner. In his 23 years he has probably logged more miles in the desert than a full time racer while attending schools in Mexicali, El Centro and college in San Diego. He is a business major there while working as General Manager of Team Vildosola. 2001 saw Tavo start the Score Series in a 1-2/1600 car which took a back seat to school after several finishes in the top 5. He joined Arturo Honold (Mexicali, Mex.) for a time in the Score Lite class with the same result. He was tagged however for his talents to co-drive with Brian Iccler (Poway ,CA.) in the Baja 1000 in 2003 where they won the race and Iccler the 1-2/1600 SCORE Championship. Tavo likes the buggies but his heart has always been like his father's "racing a truck". Last year they leased a pro truck and father and son shared the driving duties in a race in Mexico winning their class and third overall. Next dual effort was another Mexican race, with the Vildosola Trophy Truck #4 in Oct 2004 where they again won their class and this time first overall. Now Tavo is really hooked on trucks. This year, 2005, will see him run a full Protruck Schedule starting with the SCORE Laughlin Challenge. With school almost finished watch for this soft spoken, well mannered young man to go for it. Update October 26, 2005 -- And go for it he has. Coming off a win at the Vegas to Reno our Rookie now leads Al Hogan by one point with two races left in the Protruck Series.
